This past weekend was glorious as it was the first time we have both been home the whole weekend in what seemed like forever. Also the weather was perfect (read 70 degrees and below). We did a lot of fun activities like visit the art museum for music and cocktails, go to the farmers market, get our favorite sandwiches, checked out some live music, hung with friends, etc. I also cooked a lot of new and fun recipes. So much went on that I think it will be easier to tell you in photos.

Lentil & Cous Cous Salad I made Friday for dinner
Tofu Hoagie from Fu Wah Market the best $4.30 sandwich money can buy
Strawberry Rhubarb Pie I made with my farmers market selections
I made a non gluten free version of this dish for dinner on Saturday with fresh local asparagus

Sunday started with coffee. Coffee is better with homemade whipped cream. Its science.
I made cornmeal cakes from FSC book club selection and topped them with poached eggs, black beans, salsa and fresh green onions for brunch.
We picked up some special beers and tried one on Sunday. It was great!
We went on a fun picnic on Sunday as well and enjoyed more asparagus along with a great view of the museum. True benefit of our neighborhood!
Weekends like this make me wish every weekend was 3 days. Hope everyone else enjoyed theirs!
Awwwe! I love to see our city out in the blogoshpere. The Rhubarb Pie looks amazing. I have never had rhubarb ~ it scares me for some reason. LOL! 🙂 And June 12th for dinner works great for me too! We’ll watch the weather 🙂
I like rhubarb in strawberry pies because its tangy and makes them not super sweet, I am posting the recipe tomorrow its super easy. Looking forward to dinner!
